Adopting XML: Tomorrow's
Web: Authored and presented by Simon Brooke, Technical
Director, to EdMedia'99 in Seattle and to the Internet
Society at INET'99 in San Jose in June, 1999. Also
presented to the Scottish Software Federation in May
1999. An updated version was presented at INET2000.
Our intensive two day course on Java and XML,
which was first presented at INET 2000 in Yokohama, Japan, is
here. This course has since
been presented to a number of commercial organisations. [NOTE:
this course is now somewhat out of date and contain one egregious error].
Weft is committed to the use of Java Servlets and XML to deliver
information systems over the Web. Our in-house Servlet toolkit,
Jacquard, is now available for download
under BSD-style licence.

The Servlet spec doesn't make RFC 1867 compliant file upload
(i.e. forms with enctype="multipart/formdata") particularly easy to
do, and while there was already one
excellent implementation of RFC 1867 upload by Jason Hunter, we
weren't able to use that because it isn't Open Source. Our implementation is freely available under
BSD-style license.
